The exhibition “Mittendrin” at GrazMuseum illustrated the lives of people with lear-ning disabilities, as well as how they see themselves and their surroundings. Attention is drawn to the less obvious aspects and needs of life with a dis-ability through intimate insight into everyday life.

Styria has already made some improvements in relation to disabled citizens. This exhibition highlights the historical aspects as well as changes in society’s attitude towards people with disabilities. A major challenge was the creation of a barrier‒free exhibition within the existing premises. “Mittendrin” connects accessibility with distinctive design, and creates a new perception by providing personal insights.
