This year’s month of design is a very special one, celebrating 10 years of “design monat graz” by Creative Industries Styria who brought this festival to life. Yesterday evening Eberhard Schrempf, head of Creative Industries Styria, Siegfried Nagl, mayor of the city of Graz and Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, head of the ministry of economics of Styria kicked off the design festival starting an event series over the course of four weeks throughout the city of Graz and introduced this year’s topic: tolerance.
Over a hundred events in total – installations in the public space, exhibitions or lectures – at almost seventy different venues channel the focus on embracing diversity through art and design featuring works from 97 partners: local designers and shops, but also a variety of international creatives from all over the world especially other UNESCO cities of design.
Congratulations also to the designers of studio Zwupp who graduated from our University of Applied Sciences Joanneum and created the visual appearance of the “design monat graz” in cooperation with Paul Leichtfried.
