The portfolio of a web-designer is not only a key-element of his own professional success but also an essential companion for his creative development and hence of relevance, even at the beginning of a designer’s career. This thesis focuses on the various processes of creating an online-portfolio from a conceptual, creative and technical point of view. It has been designed as a resource for elementary- level students giving an overall-view of the numerous aspects of its practical application and contains exemplifications on both the distinctive feature “to design for oneself” and on web-specific topics. Its aim is to foster the handling and the basic understanding of the comprehensive and constant “creative process” of self-reflection and self-projection, and last but not least, to help students with elaborating their own portfolios online.
