The ambiguous heading: ‘Des is ka Kunst’ is a slang slogan and means both: ‘This is not art’ and, ‘This is easy to do’. It is the common thread running through the campaign and refers to the term, ‘littering’ which means incorrect disposal of waste in a public area. Butts are the most disposed things worldwide and are a problem for humans, animals and the environment.
To address this topic, Gernot Knechtel created and designed a complete awareness-campaign for his bachelor’s thesis. This campaign-concept, starting with research and ending with the implementation of the graphic design, was developed to inform and sensitise people.
