In the time of smartphones, web 2.0 and social media services, doing things yourself is becoming ever more popular. It appears that this is a welcome relief in a society where speed, hecticness and ephemerality dominate everyday life. Fueled by the desire for individuality, DIY-scenarios appear to have reached a new peak.
This master’s thesis by Verena Seidl shows how the values of the DIY-community influence self-made print finishing. This study into print finishing offers the opportunity to immerse into the subject and to experience factors such as
individuality and saving of costs.
